Dear Mr. Antoine Fuqua, please make Night Biters into a movie

Dear Mr, Fuqua please consider
Night Biters as a future project

Your projects are gritty, filled with characters that are marginalized yet smart, resourceful

and whether you agree with it or not their own moral code

No other director can capture the many complex elements of street life as you have in film and video.

The urban purity of Gangsta Paradise, the Replacement Killers, Training Day and your current film Brooklyn's Finest are testaments to your skills

Night Biters a Tale of Urban Horror would be a departure but its clear from King Arthur that you are willing to take risks, I assure you a supernatural vampire tale with heroic teens from multi-ethnic backgrounds would pay off handsomely
Mr. Fuqua I realize this is blatant but I believe in my books and would love to see them on the big screen directed by the best

I can be contacted here

Thank you for your time

A.

Beauty of the Omo

On the borders of Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan, the lower Omo Valley is a lost world. Far from any city and with a cruel climate, this land remains one of the wildest in Africa. This magnificently produced, two-volume publication is a superb chronicle of the Omo Valley's fast-vanishing and excruciatingly hard way of life, focusing on the fifteen or so ethnic groups who have lived there since time immemorial. Hans Silvester's photographs, as beautiful as they are fascinating, are accompanied by a text that documents the culture and daily life of the Omo tribes. 2 volumes presented in a slipcase: Volume I Customs and Ceremonies; Volume II Face and Body Decoration. 304pp, UK. THAMES & HUDSON. click here for more

IRON MAN 2 IS AN INTERRACIAL BUDDY COP FLICK?

This trailer gives a deeper glimpse into the plot.  This time around, Tony Stark’s urban sidekick gets his own suit of armor, then they band together to fight the Russian version of themselves.  When you think about it, it’s a lot like Rocky IV.  But I’m okay with that for the following reasons:

"A" Team of Losers & Takers

This summer three action buddy movies will be on the big screen. One original, one TV and one comic adaptation. My money's on the original

The Takers
Plot A group of bank robbers find their $20 million plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective.

The A-Team
The 80's TV show gets an update Plot A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed

The Losers
Adapted from the Virtigo comic book of the same name Plot: After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination.

Why I picked The Takers because whereas A-Team and Losers appear to be targeted at males who want action. The Takers is eye-candy for the ladies, I first heard about it in November of last year and the woman who mentioned it can't wait for it's release. That kind of buzz is normally a good thing. She's not the only one.  I imagine there will be many "Takers". Interesting to note that Losers and Takers both star Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba

Michael Jackson Radical

Producing the first video proved to be a difficult task for Jackson. State authorities unsuccessfully tried to ban the singer filming in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador (Pelorinho). Officials feared images of poverty might affect tourism and accused Jackson of exploiting the poor. Ronaldo Cezar Coelho, the state secretary for Industry, Commerce and Tourism demanded editing rights over the finished product, stating, "I don't see why we should have to facilitate films that will contribute nothing to all our efforts to rehabilitate Rio's image". Some were concerned that scenes of poverty and human rights abuses would affect their chances of hosting the Olympics in 2004. Others supported Jackson's wish to highlight the problems of the region, arguing that the government were embarrassed by their own failings. read more

Black & Blue Print

The Black Male Handbook is a collection of essays for Black males on surviving, living, and winning. Kevin Powell taps into the social and political climate rising in the Black community, particularly as it relates to Black males. This is a must-have book, not only for Black male readers, but the women who befriend, parent, partner, and love them.

The Black Male Handbook answers a collective hunger for new direction, fresh solutions to old problems, and a different kind of conversation -- man-to-man and with Black male voices, all of the hiphop generation. The book tackles issues related to political, practical, cultural, and spiritual matters, and ending violence against women and girls.

The book also features an appendix filled with useful readings, advice, and resources. The Black Male Handbook is a blueprint for those aspiring to thrive against the odds in America today.

ICONIC Return

Two opinions on the return of Milestone Comics after a decade

"I specifically stayed away from saying that,(minority characters) because that’s not what it’s about. There is a depth to these characters, there is an awareness to these characters, there’s a strength in personality, and there’s great development in these characters. When you have characters like ICON, Static, Hardware, the Shadow Cabinet...these are great characters and great concepts in their own right. This isn’t about a diversity issue – this is about bringing great material into the DC Universe, and being able to add value to everything that we do. "
Dan Dio DC Comics interview

"I believe this is a huge mistake that will, over time, work to the detriment of these characters instead of their benefit. By losing the uniqueness that made them stand apart from the crowd, the Milestone heroes will, sooner or later, become as far removed from their roots as the Marvel family is now."
